![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The fog mechanics in game while sailing always felt annoying too like it's a cheap way to deal with draw distance problems. But it's just impossible to anticipate, dodge or parry if you can't see the thing attacking you. The silly thing is, I am geared in the best stuff and would have been able to beat the 2 star wasp thing, I got it down to half health without being able to really see it. Nothing against mods, but I just didn't want to have to deal with the whole aspect of them for this game. I haven't played using any mods so far these past 500 hours so I probably won't start now. It's also nice the mod doesn't just eliminate the fog-but slowly pushes it back-so atmosphere is preserved, and running blindly into the fog is still a risky maneuver. At this radius (less than a workbench) you can enjoy the landscape and see your immediate surroundings, but you still don't know what dangers (or treasures) lurk a few steps away behind that wall of fog. This is of course only my opinion, but it feels like this is the right balance of playability and difficulty. Update: I installed the DeezMistyBalls mod and set the radius to 15. It also makes exploration quite tedious since you literally can barely see more than a few meters.Īm I missing something? Does the thick fog ever lift? While this definitely makes it ominous and challenging, it also completely negates one of the high points of the game-the beautiful landscapes and breath-taking views. I've only explored a few parts of the Mistlands, but so far everything seems to be covered in a thick purple-black fog. ![]()
